Holiday in Jan--No school on Jan 21st
Dance
--Enrollment for dance opens in January. If you would like to sign up your child, please let us know. The price for the next semester will be $28 per month. For the May recital, there will be a $6 recital fee due in April for the May recital.
Winter Holidays
--Please let us know which holidays your family celebrates and your traditions so we may share them with the children. They love this at show and tell time. As teachers, we share our holidays with the children. Because this is their “home away from home”, we would like to include everyone’s holidays in our discussions.
Book Exchange
--If your child would like to participate in the book exchange on Monday, Dec. 17th, please send in a wrapped book by that date. Address it to “My Friend”, signed by your child. Traditional holiday stories or old favorites would be great. Please, no books with fighting, movie or TV related books and such.
Holiday snacks
--Thanks so much for asking! We would love to share holiday snacks. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec 19th and 20th, we will shared snacks, listen to holiday music (send in cds to share, if you like), and make holiday art quite a bit those days.
Lunches--
Many have asked for ideas. This time of year soup is great. We can reheat it or you may send it in a thermos. For the young ones, crackers to crumble into the soup make it easier to eat. Any leftovers are great. We are discussing food balancing and your body’s nutritional needs, so let your child help you make lunch. Selecting a main dish, veggies, grains, and a fruit are great lessons for lifelong health. Please keep sweets at home (Jell-O, candy, cookies and such). If they have it here, they tend not to eat the rest of their food. Sweets for holidays and parties are okay.
Please use an ice pack for cold items. Label dishes, ice packs and such. Also, please include a plate and/or placemat, cup, and silverware.
New student mailboxes
--I have found a mail box/file organizer for us to use. Each family will have their own slot, so please check for notes and papers.
Personal Items
--Thanks for labeling everything. This is helps so much.
Tuition
--Tuition is due Jan 1st. You may pay before the holiday if you like and I will hold your check or you may pay when we return on the 3rd.
Candle sales
--Thanks so much for the fundraising. We earned quite a bit. The children are helping decide what kind of toys and books to purchase. We will also buy some more sand and fall zone material for the playground.
Infants/Toddlers
--If your child is teething, please send in any pain medicine that your child needs. You will need to sign the medical sheet in order for us to administer the medicine. Also, teething rings may be helpful to alleviate the pain.
Cold Weather Gear
--Please send in coats and hats, labeled with your child’s name. We will go outside most days, depending on the weather. Hats are important to prevent heat loss and keep the cold air from causing ear pain. Going outside is very important to help fight off the germs and it is state mandated by law. Keep in mind that the adults get cold much faster than the children, so depending on the temperature, staying out too long is usually not a worry.
Diapers, Wipes and Pull-ups
--Please check your child’s basin often to make sure they have supplies.
Lost and Found
--Please check the lost and found basket. It will be emptied over the break.
Ms. Vanessa’s training
--Ms. Vanessa finished the first 1/3 of her Montessori teacher certification training with high marks!!! Great job!
